JUNE 14, 2020

We are very happy the Carriage Ridge Resort has been up and running again since Monday June 8th!   The pool is expected to be open later this week under specific Covid-19 operating guidelines.   FYI … take a look at the following 2 documents outlining new protocols for Guests and Guest Room Cleaning.

AVAILABILITY IN JUNE
There is availability for owners to book in June, even with the 50% occupancy restriction!!   The pool will be opened to 30% capacity in order to exercise social distancing protocols.  Gym, kids pool, hot tubs, arcades, play ground and fire pit will continue to remain closed for the time being.
We will have a Pool Concierge who will be responsible for daily reservations for the pools.  With the current level of reservations we will be able to accommodate all guests for the next two weeks, however keep in mind this changes daily with new bookings.   As the bookings increase and demand for the pool increases, in order to be fair to everyone, we will be limiting the pool time per room occupied to a 2 hour period if required.
Due to the limited capacity, day use will be restricted, other than for aqua fit in the mornings that often sees a lot of local deeded owners for the one hour session.

MAY 15, 2020

Just wanted to reach out and give you an update on the resorts openings.  We have been busy working on projects at both Hills and Ridge with our skeleton staff to bring the resorts on line when we would start to re-open.   We are now scheduled to do a soft re-opening of both resorts effective Monday June 8th.  The resorts will return back to occupancy in a phased in approach and in the first phase we would run at a maximum of 50% occupancy.

Naturally this is all based on the Ontario Government’s direction and may change with short notice.

As we open the resorts we must continue the social / physical distancing guidelines and it is important to know that  pools, hot tubs gyms, arcades, all activities, fire pits, volleyball court, shuffleboards, access to the Stanhope building and all activities will remain closed.   Carriage House and the Ridge Club will both remain closed in the first few weeks of opening and we will again follow the guidance of the local health officials on how we will be able to phase in these services and activities in a responsible fashion while providing a safe environment to all of our guests.  We will be bringing back BBQs but limiting to only one BBQ per pavilion in order to promote safe social distancing.

We plan to start a gradual return to work of our furloughed associates back to the resort as of Monday June 1st and all associates will go through a re-training sequence to ensure fluency in COVID-19 safety and sanitation protocols, with heightened training given to associates with frequent Owner / Guest contact.

All associates will also be instructed to avoid direct physical contact such as hand shaking and to keep general interactions within six-feet of others.  Some other changes we will put in place are installation of Plexiglas separation and front desk and social distancing spacing and signage for owners and guests in check in.  Only one person per reservation is allowed access to complete the check in process and limiting the flow of guest to three check in stations at any one time.

For housekeeping we are no longer working in teams of two room attendants and are going back to one person cleaning for all guests’ rooms.   Other measures that are put in place will include sanitation station for both front of the house and in associate areas and provisions of PPE (personal protective equipment) for all of our associates.

The health and safety of our owners / guests and associates will be of utmost priority and importance to us as we re-open the resorts.   We are excited to bring back our owners and associates and re-open the resorts in the “new normal” environment that seems to be evolving for all of us daily.

APRIL 30, 2020

We will be extending the resort closures until May 26, 2020 at this point.  We will continue to monitor the situation and will advise on when we are able to safely re-open the resorts for our Owners and Staff.  Esa and his team are continuing to manage the resort on a skeleton crew and have engaged in many projects that continue to improve the experience at the resort and having the resort ready to open its doors again soon.

I hope you are healthy and safe during this time.  I wanted to provide you all with an update to our resort operations at Carriage Hills and Carriage Ridge.

With the continuing Covid-19 crisis unfolding, keeping the safety and security of our guests and colleagues in the forefront, we will be extending our closures until at least May 15, 2020.  We are also continuing to investigate our options with the Government of Canada Emergency Wage Subsidies as applicable.

The limited skeleton crew at the resort continue to move forward on many projects at the resorts to prepare us for the day we can re-open and welcome back our owners and guests.

MARCH 29, 2020 – Resort Operations – COVID-19 Update

We are closely monitoring the quickly changing novel coronavirus / COVID-19 situation and the impact to our Resort Operations. We are complying with guidance issued by Health Canada as well as local public health authorities, and responding to actions taken by the Province of Ontario and local officials as well as conditions in the surrounding community.

As a result, we have Closed Carriage Ridge Resort effective Sunday March 22nd and are not accepting any reservations through to April 30th. This may change with the evolving Novel corona virus / COVID-19 situation.

Our housekeeping and maintenance staff have completed cleaning all departed rooms as well as attended to any maintenance deficiencies in our rooms. We have taken all available measures to conserve energy in the rooms, turned off pool and hot tub heaters and suspended services such as satellite TV and reduced the frequency of waste collection in order to save the association money.

The health and safety of our owners, guests, and associates is our top priority.  We continue to operate the resort on a skeleton staff for asset protection and security while practicing physical and social distancing as recommended.

While we are disappointed that we will not be able to host you at the resort at this time, we appreciate your understanding as we work to ensure the health and safety of our owners, guests, and associates, and help prevent the spread of illness.

We look forward to welcoming you back for a future vacation.
